On Tuesday, the Florida Chamber of Commerce named Sen. Ellyn Bogdanoff, R-Fort Lauderdale, as their most valuable legislator for the 2011 session. The Florida Chamber pointed to the freshman senator’s record on a number of issues, including reducing the corporate income tax and fighting for insurance and legal reform.

“Senator Bogdanoff has been a champion for pro-business legislation since she was elected to the House of Representatives in 2004,” said Jon Ferrando of AutoNation who serves on the Florida Chamber of Commerce board of directors. “She helped pass much of the Florida Chamber’s agenda for jobs during her first year in the Senate.”

“I am honored to be recognized by the Florida Chamber for my efforts this session,” said Bogdanoff. “As a small-business owner and chair of the Finance and Tax Committee of the Florida Senate, I believe it is critical that we continue to do what we can statutorily to foster a business climate that will have a positive impact on our economy and private-sector job growth.”

JUNO BEACH OFFICIALS ENDORSE BOGDANOFF FOR STATE SENATE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 29, 2010

Juno Beach, Fla. — Today, the Ellyn Bogdanoff for State Senate Campaign announced the endorsement of Juno Beach Mayor Mort Levine, Vice Mayor Bill Greene and Vice Mayor Pro Tem Ellen Andel.

The Town of Juno Beach represents the most northern municipality in District 25 and is another key voter rich area that will help decide the next senator to succeed President Jeff Atwater. The declaration of these officials is continued evidence the campaign has strong momentum with only 4 days to go before the November 2nd election.

“It’s a privilege to have earned the trust of well respected leaders like Mayor Levine, Vice Mayor Greene and Vice Mayor Pro Tem Ellen Andel,” said Ellyn. “As we enter the final days before one of the most important elections in our nation’s history, I am truly humbled to be receiving such an outpouring of support from the community.”

Mayor Mort Levine: Mort Levine was elected to the Juno Beach Town Council in March of 2008, he has been serving as Mayor since March of 2009. He was a member of the Juno Beach Planning and Zoning Board from 1999 through his election in 2008, serving as its Chairman from 2002 – 2008. Mort Levine has been engaged in the practice of law for almost fifty years, specializing in the fields of litigation and trial law (currently retired). In addition to his private practice the following are among the various elected and appointed positions he has served in over that period of time: Assistant District Attorney of King’s County: Associate Counsel and Assistant Counsel to various standing and joint legislative committees of the New York State Legislature including the Senate Committee on Banks, the Assembly Committee on Excise and the Joint Legislative Committees on Court Reorganization and To Study the Administration of Justice; Director of Legal Affairs for Adjudication and Enforcement of the New York City Transportation Administration, Director of Legal Affairs of the New York City Parking Violations Bureau; Chief Counsel of the New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division, Second Department Judiciary Relations Committee; Attorney for the New York Telephone Company (now Verizon) and President and Chairman of the Board of Managers of the St. Tropez Condominium, the largest condominium in New York City at the time.

Vice Mayor Bill Greene: Bill Greene is currently serving Juno Beach, his home of 22 years, as Vice Mayor on the Town Council. Previous to this service, he provided leadership to his community by being President of the Juno Beach Civic Association for seventeen years, where he made himself intimately familiar with the issues and the workings of his town. Bill is an engineer, one of three on the current council. He’s also a high-technology entrepreneur who is leading his business as CEO of Level 3 Inspection LLC. L3I provides the most accurate and comprehensive dimensional inspection capabilities, both services and systems, for all kinds of precision manufactured parts and products. L3I’s primary markets are jet engine parts and orthopaedic implants and their clients are multi-billion dollar OEMS and their supply chain. In September, Bill and Level 3 Inspection were recognized with the Governor’s Business Diversification Award for Entrepreneurship, including job creation, community involvement and investment, complete with a luncheon during Industry Appreciation Week in Tallahassee and another BDBMC celebration in Stuart. Bill is married to his wife of 20 years, Michele. Both are outdoor enthusiasts, scuba divers and sailors

Vice Mayor Pro Tem Ellen Andel: Ellen Andel was elected to the Town Council of Juno Beach in March 2009 and was selected by her fellow councilmen in March 2010 to serve as Vice Mayor Pro Tem. Ellen is a native of northern Palm Beach County and lives in Juno Beach with her husband Ladi and daughters Sophia and Anna. After graduating Cardinal Newman High School and Princeton University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, she worked in New York City for many years before returning to Florida. She is a member of the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council, chair of the Princeton Alumni Association of Palm Beach and Martin County Alumni Schools Committee, a member of the All Saints Catholic School Advisory Board where her children are students, and an avid runner.

RIVIERA BEACH COUNCIL CHAIRWOMAN DAWN PARDO ENDORSES BOGDANOFF

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 28, 2010

DISTRICT 25, Fla. — Today, the Ellyn Bogdanoff for State Senate Campaign announced the endorsement of Riviera Beach Council Chairwoman Dawn S. Pardo.

The City of Riviera Beach, encompasses the coastal community of Singer Island and represents another key voting area in northern Palm Beach County. This latest announcement comes during the same week that 8 additional Palm Beach County local leaders announced their endorsement of Bogdanoff and is continued evidence the campaign is closing strong with only 5 days to go before the election.

“I am honored to have received the endorsement of Council Chair Pardo,” said Ellyn. “Florida is facing challenging times and as the next State Senator from District 25, I look forward to working with the elected officials and residents in our community to bring forth solutions to reenergize our economy and get people back to work.”

Dawn Pardo: Dawn S. Pardo represents District 4 on the Riviera Beach City Council, which encompasses Singer Island. She joined the Council in April 2008, and was chosen by her colleagues to be Council Chairwoman a year later. Prior to taking her place on the dais, Council Chair Pardo was already well-known in the city as an activist who worked tirelessly to bridge the divide between the Island and the mainland and who led a successful referendum effort to ensure residents had a voice in the city’s redevelopment. She has won many awards for her activism, including a service award from Riviera Beach for helping to co-ordinate the relocation of Hurricane Katrina victims to the city. The Palm Beach County Youth Recreation Association also awarded her its Unsung Hero Award in 2008 and, in 2006, its community involvement award.

Council Chair Pardo is a native New Yorker and moved to Riviera Beach in 1994. Her career has been spent in financial markets, including 15 years on Wall Street as a financial analyst specializing in mergers and acquisitions. The last 13 years, in Florida, she has worked as a foreign exchange trader and international settlements manager for a multibillion dollar investment firm in Boca Raton. Council Chair Pardo serves on the Board of Directors of the Palm Beach County League of Cities; Member of the Palm Beach County Coastal Council; Member of the North County Intergovernmental Committee; Member of the Palm Beach County Bioscience Land Advisory Board; Member of the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Charette Steering Committee; Member of the Blue Heron Boulevard Beautification Committee; Past member of the Riviera Beach Zoning Board of Adjustments; Past officer of the Yacht Harbor Manor Home Owners Association; Co-founder of the Citizens for Responsible Growth for Riviera Beach and Chair of the Public Beach Coalition. Council Chair Pardo lives on Singer Island with her daughter, who attends the city’s Suncoast Community High School, the third best high school in the nation.

PALM BEACH GARDENS AND PALM BEACH SHORES OFFICIALS ENDORSE BOGDANOFF

Bogdanoff Secures Four More Palm Beach County Endorsements

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 27, 2010

DISTRICT 25, Fla. — Today, the Ellyn Bogdanoff for State Senate Campaign announced the endorsement of four more elected officials in Palm Beach County.

The City of Palm Beach Gardens and the Town of Palm Beach Shores lie in the northern end of District 25 and represent two critical voting blocks in the upcoming election to decide the next State Senator from District 25. This latest major endorsement comes just a day after four more leaders in the Village of Wellington announced their support and is continued evidence that the Bogdanoff Campaign is closing strong with only 6 days to go before the election.

“It’s an honor to have earned the trust and support of Vice-Mayor Premuroso, Council Member Russo, Mayor Workman and Commissioner Tropepe,” said Ellyn. With just days to go before voters head to the polls, I am extremely grateful to have garnered the bipartisan support of hundreds of elected officials, community leaders and residents of District 25.”

Vice-Mayor Bert Premuroso: Mr. Premuroso has been a Palm Beach Gardens resident since 1969, after his family relocated from Yonkers, New York. After graduating Palm Beach Gardens High School and Palm Beach State College, Mr. Premuroso went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Florida State University. Mr. Premuroso works as a Vice President and Business Development Leader for a local community bank and has over 22 years of experience in the banking industry. Civically active, he most recently served for seven years as the Chairperson of the City’s Recreation Advisory Board before being elected to the City Council in 2008.

Council Member Joseph Russo: Mr. Russo’s life of community service began in 1977 when he ran successfully for City Council in East Hanover, New Jersey. During his six years in East Hanover, he served one year as Mayor and one year as Police Commissioner. Mr. Russo then moved to Palm Beach Gardens in 1984 and was first elected to Palm Beach Gardens City Council in 1989. Over his course of service for the City of Palm Beach Gardens, Mr. Russo has served as Mayor for 12 of those years. Mr. Russo holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Seton Hall University. He is a self-employed Certified Public Accountant, Certified Financial Planner and Personal Financial Specialist.

Mayor John Workman: John Workman is a lifelong resident of Singer Island, and a fourteen year resident of the Town of Palm Beach Shores. At the age of 19, John became the youngest candidate for elected office in Palm Beach County when he ran for commissioner for the Town of Palm Beach Shores. During that race, there were five candidates running for two commission seats. John enjoyed the thrills of a door-to-door campaign and received prime time news coverage because of his young age, but in the end, he was not able to secure enough votes. At the age of 26, John ran a second time for a seat on the Town Commission of Palm Beach Shores. This time, he successfully defeated two sitting incumbents, receiving 45% of the vote in a three-way race. John served as vice mayor from 2007 until 2008. In March of 2009, John became the fourteenth mayor for the Town, providing leadership and oversight for the Town’s day-to-day operations. John has served on the boards of the Singer Island Civic Association and the Palm Beach Republican Club. He has also served as a member of the Palm Beach County Republican Executive Committee, and as chairman for a number of U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ federal grant review panels in Washington, DC. John is a member of Christ Fellowship Church in Palm Beach Gardens.

Commissioner Lisa Tropepe: Lisa Tropepe was born in Brooklyn, New York. She moved with her family to Broward County in 1978 until her ultimate move to Palm Beach Shores in August, 1997. Lisa received two Civil Engineering degrees from the University of Miami in 1987 and became a Licensed Civil Engineer in Florida in 1992. In 2001, Lisa became a partner in the firm now known as Engenuity Group, Inc., located in West Palm Beach. Also in 2001, the firm, with Lisa as the lead, became one of three consulting firms for the town of Palm Beach Shores. She is credited for designing the road narrowing and sidewalk improvements around the town’s perimeter right-of-way. Lisa became a Commissioner in October of 2003 and has added a more technical perspective to the Commission over the years. Her loves include her husband, Dan Shalloway, and her adopted daughter Gina Elizabeth. She enjoys yoga, line dancing and of course, walking on the parkway in “The Best Little Town in Florida.”

MAYOR OF NORTH PALM BEACH ENDORSES BOGDANOFF

Bogdanoff Lands Major Endorsement from Mayor William Manuel

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

July 29, 2010

North Palm Beach, Fla. — Today, Mayor William Manuel joined Vice-Mayor Darryl Aubrey and Councilman T.R Hernacki in endorsing Ellyn Bogdanoff for State Senate.

This latest endorsement marks a significant moment in the race for voter rich North Palm Beach. The Village of North Palm Beach lies in the northern tip of District 25 and represents one of the largest portions of the voters who will be deciding the next leader to succeed Senate President Jeff Atwater. This key endorsement is continued evidence that the Bogdanoff Campaign has the momentum with less than one month to go before the August, 24th primary.

“Ellyn has demonstrated her commitment not only to North Palm Beach but to all the municipalities within her district. Her insight into the issues facing local communities and business in these tough economic times have convinced me that she has a command of the situation we all face and a willingness to work until the job is done. I am proud to add my name to her growing list of endorsements.” said Mayor Manuel.

Mayor William Manuel: William Manuel was first elected to the Village Council of North Palm Beach in March of 2006. Currently serving as Mayor, Mr. Manuel was selected by his fellow Councilmen to serve as Mayor in 2008, Vice Mayor in 2007 and 2009, and President Pro Tem in 2006.

Mayor Manuel represents the Village on the Palm Beach County League of Cities, the Florida League of Cities Intergovernmental Relations Legislative Policy Committee, and on the Northlake Boulevard Task Force. Mayor Manuel also serves on the Board of Directors of the Palm Beach County League of Cities. Mr. Manuel is President of the Yacht Club East Condo Assoc. Before his retirement, Mr. Manuel worked in insurance, finance, and sales management. Mr. Manuel served in the US Navy, and as a veteran, is keenly interested in the welfare of our soldiers, and therefore a staunch supporter of the Village’s Support Our Troops volunteers and their efforts to remember our adopted unit, the HHC, 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment.

Ellyn grew up in North Palm Beach on Overlook Drive and worked at the North Palm Beach Country Club. She attended Broward and Palm Beach County public schools, including Howell Watkins, and she graduated Palm Beach Gardens High where she played tennis and was the “Gator Mascot.” She has always remained close to home, keeping in touch with her friends and family in the area.

“It is truly and honor to have earned the trust and support of Mayor Manuel,” said Ellyn. “Bill has been a leader on many key issues facing the Village of North Palm Beach and it’s a privilege to have earned his endorsement going into the home stretch of the campaign. I look forward to working with Mayor Manuel, Vice-Mayor Aubrey and Councilman Hernacki in the months to come.”
