Register to Vote

Registering to vote has become simple and quick. You must register at least 29 Days before the election.

Registration Deadlines:
- Primary Election: July 28, 2008
- General Election: October 6, 2008

Election Dates for 2008:
- Primary Election: August 26, 2008
- General Election: November 4, 2008

To register you must...

• Be a U.S. citizen.
• Be a Florida resident.
• Be 18 years old (you may pre-register if you are 17).
• Not now be adjudicated mentally incapacitated with respect to voting in Florida or any other state. Not have been convicted of a felony without your civil rights having been restored pursuant to law. Not claim the right to vote in another county or state.
• Submit your valid Florida driver's license number or Florida identification card number. If you do not have either of these, you must provide the last four digits of your Social Security number.

You can also register to vote when you apply for or renew...

• A Florida Driver's License
• A Broward County Public Library Card
• Benefits at a state public assistance agency
• Services at agencies providing service to disabled persons
• Armed Forces Recruiting Offices

Follow the instructions and then mail it to your Supervisor of Elections Office.
Before sending out your registration card, please read over the State's Division of Elections Voter's Registration Page.

You should receive your voter's registration card within eight weeks. If not, call your Supervisor of Elections Office.
